Switch between annual and monthly billing anytime, and see unsent recap emails on your Actions page

  • You can now switch between annual and monthly billing from Firm account, under Seats & billing, without contacting support. Seat count and billing cycle now save together with one button.
  • A client recap email that hasn't been sent yet now shows up on your Actions page, so you don't lose track of it. Sending it removes it from the list.
  • Seats & billing and your card on file are now shown as two separate cards in Settings, so it's clearer which one you're changing.
  • The signup billing step now asks you to confirm your seat count before showing the card form, and the button to start your trial stays disabled until your card details are complete.
  • Finishing signup now takes you straight to your dashboard, instead of showing one more confirmation screen first.
  • You can now see how many days are left in your trial from any page, in the sidebar.

Customize the call types your firm uses

  • Firm admins can now rename, turn off, or add call types from Settings, so the categories Astrid uses match how your firm actually works.
  • A firm that doesn't handle litigation calls, for example, can turn off Meet and Confer and Witness Interview instead of seeing them everywhere a call type is picked.
  • Adding a new call type starts by duplicating one of your existing note templates, so you always begin from a working starting point instead of a blank page.

Firm admins can require two-factor authentication for the whole team

  • Turn it on from Firm account, under Users. Anyone at your firm without two-factor authentication is then asked to set it up the next time they open Astrid, before they can do anything else. This applies to firm admins too, not just other team members.
  • Turning it back off lets each person choose for themselves again, same as before.

Searching your case management system now finds people, not just case names

  • Uploading a recording, or finishing one you captured live, now takes you straight to that call, so you can watch it process and review the note when it is ready, instead of leaving you on whatever page you started from.
  • Searching for a matter by your client's name now works across every case management system Astrid connects to. Before, some systems only looked at the case's own title, so searching for a client whose name wasn't in that title came back empty.
  • Searching by a case's own name or file number works everywhere too. In Clio that previously found nothing at all unless the text also matched a contact.
  • This applies anywhere Astrid searches for you: linking a call to a matter by hand, and the automatic matching that runs after a call is processed.
  • A matter imported from your case management system now keeps that system's own name for it, for example “Dillard Bicycle Accident”, instead of being renamed after the client. Matters imported earlier are corrected the next time Astrid syncs them.
  • Tidied the message shown when calendar syncing stops working, which was telling you to reconnect in Settings while you were already looking at Settings.
  • Fixed: approving a note now files it, and its follow-up tasks, into your connected case management system. Filing had quietly stopped running in the background, so approvals since mid August were not reaching Clio, Lawcus, or any other connected system. Anything you approved during that time needs to be reopened and approved again to file.
  • If Astrid cannot file an approved note, it now says why on the note itself, for example when the call's matter is not linked to a matter in your case management system. Before, nothing was shown and the note simply never arrived.
  • The same applies to a follow-up email. Marking one as sent files a copy to your case management system, and if that cannot happen you now see the reason on the email instead of it silently not arriving.
  • A matter that came from a case management system you have since switched away from, or disconnected, now says so on the call instead of appearing normally synced. Approving a note on one of those would not have filed anything, and nothing told you.

Calls name themselves, find their own matter, and arrive with tasks already assigned

  • Once a call finishes processing, it gets a real title drawn from the conversation itself, like “Intake call with Elena Rodriguez”, instead of a generic label. If you have already titled a call yourself, yours is kept and never overwritten.
  • An uploaded recording now takes its title from the file you uploaded, straight away, so a queue of uploads is readable before any of them have finished processing.
  • If you have connected a case management system, Astrid now tries to match a finished call to the right matter on its own, using the phone number or the client's name from the conversation. It only links when it finds exactly one match. Anything ambiguous still goes to Needs Review for you to decide.
  • Firm follow-up tasks drafted from a call now arrive assigned to whoever captured it, rather than a column of Unassigned. You can still reassign any of them.
  • The checkbox for selecting action items now appears when you hover a row, instead of sitting in every row all the time. Selecting items for a bulk edit works exactly as before, and the “select all” box at the top of each list is always there.
  • The due date column is wider, so a deadline shows its year instead of being cut off.
  • The Send follow-up email button now explains why it is unavailable when you hover it, most often because no recipient address has been added yet.
  • The recording player now matches the rest of the app instead of using the browser's default styling.
  • Fixed: renaming a call or linking it to a matter no longer disappears when you go back to the Calls list. It used to take a browser refresh to show up.
  • Fixed: a client whose full name is on the matter but whose first name only was picked up from the recording no longer shows up twice in the list of people on a call.
  • Fixed: a call still being processed for the first time said “Reprocessing”, which suggested something had already been tried and redone.

Two-factor authentication is now available

  • You can turn on two-factor authentication for your own account from Settings, under User settings. Signing in then asks for a code from your authenticator app (1Password, Authy, Google Authenticator, or any other) as well as your password.
  • You get a set of single-use backup codes when you turn it on, so you can still sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app. You can generate a fresh set at any time.
  • It is optional and off by default. Turning it on affects only your own account, and you can turn it off again from the same place.
  • Firm admins can see which team members have it turned on, under Firm account, so they can answer their clients' and insurers' security questions.
  • User settings is now split into two tabs, Profile and Integrations, so your account settings aren't buried under your connected calendars and case management system.

More of the app is now fully usable from the keyboard

  • Upcoming meetings, the Matters list, a matter's call history, and the Actions table are now fully usable from the keyboard, not just by clicking a row.
  • Signup now announces which step you're on to screen readers, matching what's already shown visually.

Manage seats and your card on file from Settings, and a clearer signup billing step

  • You can now change your seat count and update the card on file directly from Settings, without contacting support.
  • Your subscription status now shows clearly when a payment has failed or a subscription has actually ended, instead of a generic status badge.
  • The signup billing step now shows your seat count and lets you choose annual (2 months free) or monthly billing.
  • Firm address is now a real address form (street, city, state, ZIP) instead of one text box, both during signup and in Settings. Added a firm phone number field too.
  • You can now edit a team member's name or email address from Settings, not just their seat type.
  • The Calls list is now fully usable from the keyboard, not just by clicking a row.
  • Fixed a few Settings dropdowns (consent detection mode, replay timing, a team member's seat type) sometimes showing the raw saved value instead of its label.

Follow-up email opens ready to edit, and a clearer signal when case management filing fails

  • The Send follow-up email tab now opens with the editor ready right away, instead of needing an extra click to start a draft first.
  • If a note or follow-up email fails to file to your case management system, that now shows clearly on the call itself instead of quietly looking the same as a successful filing.
  • Password reset links and team invitations now send by email once your firm has email delivery set up, instead of requiring a copied link.
  • Fixed "Send notetaker to my phone" and "Join a phone call" only accepting your own saved number. Both dial any number again, a client, a witness, opposing counsel, as intended.

Manually add meetings, link calls to your calendar, and a sync fix

  • Fixed reconnecting Google or Microsoft Calendar not clearing a stuck sync error. Reconnecting now takes effect right away instead of possibly leaving your Upcoming tab showing a stale failure.
  • You can now manually add an upcoming meeting, even with no calendar connected, including its matter, call type, and whether the notetaker should join automatically.
  • Added a way to link an already-captured call back to a meeting on your calendar, for calls that came in outside the usual capture flow.
  • Needs Review now has a second tab showing every matter with unconfirmed consent in one place.
  • Fixed a doubled border line under the tabs on the Calls, Needs Review, and Actions pages.
  • Added a phone number to your profile (Settings). "Join a phone call" now calls that number specifically, instead of any number you happened to type in.
  • Fixed clicking "Send notetaker to a meeting" or "Join a phone call" twice in a row occasionally placing two bots or two calls instead of one.

Set up a meeting before it happens

  • You can now link a matter, set the call type, and set consent mode on an upcoming meeting before it's even captured, not just after.
  • Added a way to manually add a participant (name, email, phone, state) to an upcoming meeting, for anyone the calendar invite doesn't already cover.
  • Added a recipient field to the follow-up email composer, so you can see and edit who it's going to before sending.
  • Added DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the US Virgin Islands to the client state picker, and fixed its dropdown rendering narrower than the field itself.
  • Fixed disconnecting Google, Microsoft, or Zoom sometimes failing with a confusing error. It now asks you to confirm your password right there instead.
  • The follow-up email composer now always shows the Send button once Gmail or Outlook is connected, and shows which account it'll send from.
  • Clio sync is live: connect Clio, search your matters from Astrid, and approved notes and action items file straight to the right matter as Clio notes and tasks.
  • Notes filed to your case management system now include a link back to the call in Astrid, so anyone reading the note can get to the recording and transcript behind it.
  • Approving a note now keeps you on that call instead of sending you back to your call list, so you can keep reviewing or send the follow-up recap right away.

New look, a Help Center, and a more reliable case management sync

  • Refreshed the look of the site and sign-in page with a new typeface and color palette.
  • Added a Help Center with answers to common questions about capturing calls, notes, and case management sync.
  • Follow-up emails can now be copied to your clipboard directly, in addition to sending from your connected Gmail or Outlook account.
  • Fixed an issue where editing a note after approval could cause case management sync to lose track of which action items had already been filed.

Case management sync verified live, persistent matter indicator

  • Verified case management sync end to end against a live account, including matter search, client import, and task filing.
  • Added a persistent matter indicator to every call, so it's always clear which case a call is linked to.
  • Added an Approve & Sync step: choose what syncs to your case management system when you approve a note, with a prompt to send the client recap right after.

Reworked Approve & lock, case management sync

  • Reworked the Approve & lock workflow for reviewing and finalizing notes.
  • Added per-call and per-speaker consent tracking, with a jurisdiction-derived default.

  • Added a full recording-consent and disclosure system, including an audible disclosure when a meeting notetaker joins a call.
  • Added the ability to send a notetaker to a meeting on demand, not just from a synced calendar.
  • Captured the meeting host's name automatically, and added a way to link a call to its matter directly from the call workspace.
  • Added infinite scroll to Calls, Matters, and Needs Review, and inline editing on the Actions table.
