Be a lawyer, not a timekeeper

Astrid captures time from your calls, email and documents on your phone, your computer and in your browser.

Your whole day, captured

  • Calls and meetings are timed from the recording and matched to the right matter
  • Email, calendar, documents and call logs from Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and your phone system fill in the rest
  • Flat fee and contingency matters are skipped automatically

Your week of time, ready to review

  • Every entry on one page, grouped by day with totals
  • Each estimate shows what it was built from and how the time was worked out
  • Only you see your drafts. Edit anything before it goes anywhere

Approved time goes straight to your case management system

  • Approve one entry or a whole selection, then sync
  • Files to Clio, Smokeball, Lawcus and 8am MyCase on the right matter
  • The description is written for your client's invoice, never copied from your privileged note

How hourly firms use it

The call you forgot to log

A twelve-minute client call at 6pm still becomes a time entry, with the length measured from the recording.

Descriptions a client can read

The description is written for the invoice, from what was discussed, never from your privileged note.

Contingency matters stay out

Astrid only drafts time for matters billed by the hour, so a firm with a personal injury and a family practice gets entries for the family matters only.

End the Friday reconstruction

Your week is already on the page. Review it, fix what needs fixing, and approve.

Requires notetaker seat

Billable hours add-on

+$59per timekeeper per month

Or $590 per timekeeper per year, billed annually (2 months free). Added to the $40 notetaker seat.

Add it for the people who bill by the hour. Staff who do not bill do not pay for it.

  • A time entry for every call, meeting, email thread and document you work on

  • Your week of time on one page, approved one at a time or all at once

FAQs

Answers to common questions

Does Astrid ever file time without me?

No. Nothing files until the timekeeper approves it.

Who sees my draft entries?

Only you. Drafts and the activity behind them are private to the timekeeper.

What does my client see?

The description, which Astrid writes for the invoice in plain words, never copied from the internal note.

How is the duration worked out?

Calls and meetings are measured from the recording or the call log. Email and document time is an estimate, labelled as one, with the evidence and the arithmetic shown.

Does it round?

Astrid sends the time it measured or estimated. Your case management system applies your firm's billing increment.

Which practice areas does it draft for?

Any matter billed hourly. Family law, business, civil litigation and insurance defense are hourly by default, and you can mark any matter hourly.
