Ask Claude about your firm's calls.

Connect Claude to Astrid and ask it about a client or a matter. It reads your matters, calls and transcripts as you, and every answer links to the exact moment in the call, so you can check it in two clicks.

Nothing to download. You add one address to Claude and sign in to Astrid.

What it does

Questions about a matter, answered from the calls

Claude does the finding and the reasoning. Astrid supplies the matters, the calls and the transcripts, each with a link back to the moment it came from.

Finds the right matter

Name a client or a matter and Claude looks it up, then lists that matter's calls with their dates, lengths and speakers.

Reads the transcript

It reads the call transcripts you can already see, with the time of every passage, as Astrid stores them with your redaction rules applied.

Cites the moment

Each fact comes with a link that opens the call in Astrid on its Transcript tab, at that second, so a lawyer can verify it fast.

Set up

Add Astrid to Claude

There is no app to download or install. Astrid's MCP server is a web address that Claude connects to. You need an Astrid account at a firm that has AI assistant access on. It is on by default, and a firm administrator can turn it off in Settings.

Claude on the web

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Astrid and paste this address. Leave the other fields as they are.https://astrid.legal/api/mcp
  3. Click Connect. Astrid opens in your browser. Sign in with your Astrid account and click Approve.
  4. Start a new chat and enable the Astrid connector for it.

Whether you can add a custom connector depends on your Claude plan and your organization's settings. On a team plan, an administrator may need to allow it.

Claude Code

  1. In your terminal, run:claude mcp add --transport http astrid https://astrid.legal/api/mcp
  2. Start claude, type /mcp, choose astrid, and choose Authenticate.
  3. Sign in to Astrid in the browser window that opens, and click Approve.
Use it

Ask about one client or matter at a time

Name the client or the matter, then ask. Claude finds it, reads the calls it needs and answers with links. Questions that work well:

  • What did the client say about the lien on the intake call?
  • What did the witness say about the date of the incident? Give me the timestamp.
  • List the calls on this matter from last month and summarize each one.
  • Which call did we discuss settlement authority on, and what was said?

Your data and your controls

What Claude reads leaves Astrid, so the firm stays in control

The text Claude reads goes to its provider, Anthropic, under the terms of the Claude account you connect. Check those terms before you connect a firm account. The full detail is on our security page.

The same access, nothing more

Claude acts as you. Firm scoping and the privileged-call rule apply exactly as they do in the product, and a change to your seat takes effect on the next request.

A switch for the firm

A firm administrator can turn Claude access off for everyone, see who has connected it and when it was last used, and disconnect anyone.

A record of use

Astrid logs each request: when, who, which tool and which matter or call. The log holds no question text and no transcript text.

Frequently asked questions

Before you connect Claude

Do I have to download or install anything?

No. Astrid's MCP server is a web address, not an app. In Claude you add that address as a custom connector and sign in to Astrid in your browser. In Claude Code you add it with one command.

Which assistants work with it?

Claude. We tested Claude on the web and Claude Code. ChatGPT is coming soon, and other assistants are not supported yet.

Can Claude change anything in Astrid?

No. The server is read-only. It cannot approve a note, file anything to a case management system, send a recap or edit a record, and it cannot return call audio.

What can Claude see?

Only what you can already see in Astrid: your firm's matters and client names, the calls on them with their dates, lengths and speakers, and call transcripts with the time of each passage. It reads the transcripts as Astrid stores them, so anything your firm chose to redact at transcription stays redacted.

What about privileged calls?

Astrid's existing rule applies. Attorney seats and firm administrators can read calls marked privileged through Claude, and each is flagged as privileged. Staff seats cannot read them, and are told only that privileged calls exist.

Where does the call content go?

What Claude reads is sent to Anthropic, under the terms of the Claude account you connect. Those terms can differ from Astrid's on training and retention, and they differ between personal and business plans, so check them before you connect. Anthropic is not an Astrid subprocessor for this, because you choose it. Astrid cannot see what Claude does with the text and cannot recall it once it is sent.

Can my firm turn it off?

Yes. It is on by default for every firm. A firm administrator can turn it off in Settings, which stops every connected assistant at its next request, can see who has connected Claude and when it was last used, and can disconnect anyone. You can disconnect your own connection at any time, in Astrid or in Claude.

What does Astrid record about my use of Claude?

Astrid logs each request Claude makes: when, which user, which tool, and which matter or call it read. The log holds no question text and no transcript text. The server sees Claude's requests, not the question you typed, so the log cannot show what you asked.

Why can't it search across all my clients?

It does not search yet. Claude finds the client or matter you name, lists that matter's calls and reads the ones it needs. That works well for a question about one matter. A question across every client, such as which clients mentioned a new doctor this month, is not supported.

What happens when I click a citation link while signed out of Astrid?

You sign in, then click the link again. The link opens the call on its Transcript tab at that moment.

Ask your calls a question.

See Claude answer from a real matter, with a link to the exact moment in the call. ChatGPT is coming soon.
